What's the best time to visit Maragogi's Natural Pools?
The tour depends on low tide: the best days have tides up to 0.60 m between 6am and 3pm — the lower, the shallower and clearer the pools. It happens every month, on days near the full and new moons. Use the calendar to see the exact days, month by month.
Do you need low tide to visit the natural pools?
Yes. The natural pools only form when low tide exposes the reefs, about 6 km offshore. At high tide the tour doesn't run, which is why boats depart at times that follow the tide table.
Where does this calendar's data come from?
From the Brazilian Navy's official tide table (DHN) for the Maragogi region, updated as soon as each period is published. We rate each day by its daytime low-tide height: Excellent up to 0.30 m, Great up to 0.45 m and Good up to 0.60 m.
